چکیده

Detection and removal of metal ion contaminants have attracted great interest due to the health risks that they represent for humans wildlife. Among proposed compounds developed these purposes, thiourea derivatives been shown as quite efficient chelating agents cations heavy components high-selectivity sensors. Understanding nature metal–ionophore activity is thus high relevance. We present a theoretical study on interaction between substituted thioureas cations, namely, Cd2+, Hg2+, Pb2+. Two substituent groups chosen: 2-furoyl m-trifluoromethylphenyl. Combining density functional theory simulations with wave function analysis techniques, we metal–thiourea characterize bonding properties. Here, it how N,N?-disubstituted derivative has strong affinity through cation–hydrogen interactions, its greater oxidizing capacity.

Theoretical studies on corrosion inhibition of N-aroyl-N’-aryl thiourea derivatives using conceptual DFT approach

In this paper, quantum chemical parameters at density functional theory (DFT) B3LYP/6-31G** (d,p) level of theory were calculated for three organic corrosion inhibitors [N-benzoyl-N-(p-aminophenyl) thiourea, N-benzoyl-N-(thiazole) thiourea and N-acetyl-N-(dibenzyl) thiourea. The calculated molecular descriptors such as the HOMO, LUMO, dipole moment, chemical potential (μ), chemical hardness (ղ)...

Modified Citrus Pectin and Heavy Metal Chelation

This study was undertaken to evaluate the effect of modified citrus pectin (MCP) on the urinary excretion of toxic elements in healthy individuals. MCP is a reduced molecular weight pectin (weight-average molar mass = 15400) that is mostly linear homogalacturonan with a 3.8% degree of esterification and approximately 10% rhamnogalacturonan II based on the presence of 2-keto-3-deoxy-octonic acid...

Metal ion selectivity and substrate inhibition in the metal ion chelation catalyzed by human ferrochelatase.

Protoporphyrin IX ferrochelatase (EC 4.99.1.1) catalyzes the terminal step in the heme biosynthetic pathway, the insertion of ferrous iron into protoporphyrin IX. Ferrochelatase shows specificity, in vitro, for multiple metal ion substrates and exhibits substrate inhibition in the case of zinc, copper, cobalt, and nickel. Zinc is the most biologically significant of these; when iron is depleted...

Practical Materials for Heavy Metal Ion Chelation: Polyethylenimines tailored onto The Surface of Porous Silica

INTRODUCTION As a result of heavy metal ion release from industrial wastewater, water pollution has become a serious problem. Waste streams contain solutions of metal ions, such as copper, nickel, cobalt and lead. Many reviews have discussed the removal of metal ions from aqueous solutions using approaches based upon adsorption, precipitation, solvent extraction and polymeric membranes. Recentl...
